Germany: Day 10

25 Sept 2013
Nykobing F, Denmark to Rostock, Germany
25 miles + Ferry from Denmark to Germany

We’ve been in Germany for only 2 hours and have already followed a well-signed route from the ferry terminal into the city, booked a room, purchased two cycling maps, and walked past half a dozen bakeries that are actually open for business. Welcome to Germany!

What comes next? Gina shouting “I can’t stand it, it’s so cute”, when we see the interior of our room – a full apartment, actually, on the top floor of a beautiful home right in the heart of the old town. Plan F – Find a Way to Germany – has come to fruition and so far, so good.

This Rostock town appears to be a happening place. There are people milling about the town square and shopping at the TK Maxx (I don’t know if that was a German misspelling or misunderstanding), people dining at the Mall (well, that would be us at the Peking Asia, getting noodles and chicken in the land of kraut and brats), and people buying Cafe au Laits from what Gina hopes to call her next career: the coffee bike. Would that not be a match made in Heaven?
